California native Blvc Ki isn’t the copy paste West Coast artist we’ve become used to. Although he does tell stories from the perspective of California culture, the delivery and storytelling he brings to his music is unique and makes him stand out from the crowd.
Born in Los Angeles, the young Blvc Ki cut his teeth playing the game in the streets of Northern California’s Bay Area. And although his heart was left in the San Francisco Bay, opportunity led him to his adopted hometown of Stockton, California. His songs are stories from the avenue, grit and hustle, held together with mud from the soil.
DAO is the Multi-Hyphenated talent who got his start in a poetry contest, when he was 4. That love for rocking a crowd continued to music production. In 2008, the Hayward/Los Angeles native added his talents to a group called the 3 Kali King, where he not only produced but rapped and sang. Alongside group members Khali-B and Kleeane, their regional hit “Kalifornia” propelled DAO to work with many artists around the Bay Area, honing his sound.
In 2014 DAO produced and hosted a radio show called “Generation U” successful at the dawn of the now huge podcast market. He also produced with Alex Keys and collaborated with songwriters throughout Los Angeles. He performed at RnB Live, LA Live,Vision Performing Arts Center, the Mint with talents such as BJ the Chicago Kid, Deray Davis, Keirra Sheird, and RJfromLA just to name a few. Now he’s back to bring his unique artistry to the world with original music, blending Soul, Hip-Hop, Jazz, and EDM. Shaking up the world is what DAO was born to do and he’s gonna fuck it up!!
